Here are a few introductory words from our candidate for Newcastle Central, Emily Payne:
"I am thrilled to have been selected as the Newcastle Central Candidate. Newcastle is close to my heart; my great-grandfather was a doctor here, my grandmother grew up here, I went to University here and then worked for BAE Systems.
We are making traction on the doorsteps, witnessing lifelong Labour and Lib Dem voters pledge to vote Conservative. The failure to deliver Brexit has paralysed our country, harmed our economy and split our community. We need to return a Conservative government so we can deliver Brexit and I need your help to do that. This is the moment of opportunity where we can turn Newcastle Central blue, but to do that we need to spread the message and get out the word.
We will be hosting meet the candidate drinks across the constituency, more details will be following shortly, and I look forward to meeting you then. We will be running daily canvassing and leafleting sessions which I desperately need your help to come out and support. We launch the first one this Saturday meeting outside M&S on Northumberland Street at 11.00 am. We will also be running telephone canvassing sessions every evening from our new campaign HQ in Pilgrim Street. We know messaging is strongest when it comes from third parties, so please also follow me on social media; re-posting my content or writing your own endorsement.
Let’s deliver Brexit so we can focus on the issues that matter: making Newcastle a Northern Powerhouse, combating crime and anti-social behaviour, tackling the air pollution epidemic and ensuring Newcastle becomes a centre of opportunity and innovation.
I look forward to meeting you soon."
She needs your vote on 12th December.
