On his nomination as Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Newcastle upon Tyne East, Robin Gwynn said:
"I am delighted to be nominated as the Conservative Party’s Parliamentary candidate for Newcastle East in the General Election on 12 December.
This election offers the people of Newcastle East the chance to support the Conservative plan to Get Brexit Done and focus on our domestic priorities including increased support for the NHS, police and schools. It is also an opportunity for change and a new perspective locally, helping to unleash our local and national potential.
If elected I commit to:
* work closely with local Conservatives and residents, businesses, organisations and authorities to seek new solutions to long-running issues – including greater access to regional employment and training opportunities;
* use my wider career experience - including working in central government and the private and voluntary sectors - to deal with the issues raised by individual constituents.
* represent proudly the people of Newcastle East in Parliament. That includes supporting Boris Johnson's new deal for Brexit, allowing all parts of the UK to access the global opportunities that lie beyond - and to build a country that works for all.
This is a critical moment for our country. A Conservative vote on 12 December offers two choices in one: getting Brexit done with our full domestic programme following, as well as choosing change and a new approach locally."
